One of the things I love the most about the families that come to our Candid Mini Sessions is all of the ways that they are constantly changing.

Like when a family, (who have been clients since their wedding) gets a new puppy.

Or when a family is celebrating the end of their home school year.

Or even just celebrating the fact that last time you were here at this playground, your child couldn’t climb the rock wall, but this time it was a piece of cake.

Spring is our favorite time of year. The temperatures rise, the colors burst everywhere and the sun comes out of it’s winter hibernation in Rochester NY. It’s easy to see why our Candid Mini Sessions in Highland Park are always one of our most popular family mini sessions.

Candid Family Mini Sessions in Rochester NY: Hipocampo Children's Books

When it comes to family mini sessions in winter, we get creative. We don’t use a studio and a painted backdrop.

We use your real life.

For example, we recently partnered with a great business like Hipocampo Children’s Books. We woredk together to create a family picture experience. In this case, Henry and Pamela at Hipocampo provided a story time for families to come and enjoy.

How does photography fit into this?

While story time was happening we captured candid family pictures. When story time wrapped up, we took a few posed family pictures as well. We used the colorful book background as the perfect setting for family pictures of book loving families.

Other examples?

• Bright lights and pinball game backgrounds for game loving families.

• Playground family pictures at your favorite playground.

• Halloween costumes and pumpkin picking for fall family pictures.

Candid Family Mini Sessions: Winter Family Pictures in Pittsford

The 2022 Candid Mini Session Events are off to a great start, albeit a very cold one.

We held our first set of winter family pictures on Birdsong Trail at Mendon Ponds. The morning sun reflected off the snow, giving a beautiful glow for these brave families at their mini sessions.

Mini-Sessions Photography: 6 month old pictures

I think 6 months just became my favorite milestone in the baby steps plan. This is the age when babies are usually starting to sit on their own, they are full of expressions and are just a whole lot of fun! While Clara is no stranger to my camera, this was the first time I got to work with Paulie. The first of many I hope! Have you seen this stud muffin? Watch out ladies... While we had hoped to be outside for these mini sessions, the day proved to be a little to cold for that. We ended up inside at the Barnes Hiscock Mansion in Syracuse, NY. The home is beautiful with lots of great spaces we were able to utilize. The staff was wonderful to work with as well. If you are in the area, I definitely suggest checking it out!
