Coffee Shop Personal Branding Session, Fairport NY: Nicole

I’d like you to meet Nicole Sipple of Visual Impressions! Nicole is a talented graphic designer working in both print and web design. I have had the pleasure of working with her on several projects over the past year, and was excited to finally get her in front of the camera!

We recently had the opportunity to create some images to help illustrate her brand. I’ll let her tell you a little bit more about it.

Who is your ideal customer? Small businesses and entrepreneurs who are passionate about their business.

What problem are you solving for them? Creatively helping them design a cohesive branding solution from logo to designed collateral and a stellar online presence.

How do you want your client to feel? We want clients to feel warm and welcome. I want them to feel that they are in good hands and can trust that through working together we can achieve something that is pretty unique.

What is your one key story that you want your client to know/learn? The average time a consumer takes to review your website is 7 seconds. That's not a lot of time to grab a potential clients attention enough for them to want to stay and want to know more about your services. You need to have a cohesive brand solution that can capture their attention to help them gain and keep clients.

What is your point of difference and how do you stand out? My point of difference is I am a graphic designer who has years of printing experience. There are a lot of great designs out there that look great on screen but sometimes it doesn't translate as successfully once printed. I know digital is becoming the future but i do not think print will ever die.

Want to know more? You can find Nicole at www.visualimpressionsdesign.com

Tell her we sent you!

Business Photography for Dentists in Rochester NY

Meet the friendly women of 585 Dentist! We wanted to show how welcoming their office is, and make clients feel at home. So rather than the usual, formal headshots, we created environmental portraits in their own space. No boring, fake backdrops necessary. We even got outside to take advantage of the fall foliage!

If you need a brand image refresh for your business, give us a call and let’s make something to feature your business here next!

Personal Branding Photography: Natalli in Fairport NY

Bright, airy. Professional, but real. Her style is classic, and she enjoys flower arranging in her spare time. How do you incorporate all of this into a “headshot”?

If you didn’t know, every single session we photograph comes with a planning consultation to make sure we know your goals and aesthetic. Any photographer in Rochester can take a picture, but together, we can make images that tell your story and relay your brand (and who you are) in a fun and visually pleasing way.

Say hi to Natalli, and if you need to refresh your personal brand photography, reach out to us today!

Personal Brand Photography in Fairport, NY: Dana

Talk about a fun photo shoot! Say hello to Dana!

Dana is an entrepreneur. She sells Arbonne and wants to help women feel their best, inside and out. Though I have known her for several years, I learned so much more about her in preparing for this headshot session. When she launches her brand, she wants it to be vibrant, positive, fresh.

Cue playing in the fall foliage.

Everyone is on a journey, and this is a journey to wellness. Since Dana’s husband runs the bike shop in town, why not include this adorable vintage bike in her shoot!? We had so much fun in the Village of Fairport creating images for her to use as she shows the world who she is.

So say hello to Dana, the Fresh Start Lady! And if you are looking for images to help illustrate your new brand, give us a shout today!

Cheers!

Personal Brand Photography for Therapists in Rochester NY

We’ve been photographing Kim’s high school seniors since 2014. After three of her high school seniors, I was excited when she told me she was in need of some new headshots for herself.

In talking with her I learned that her new website design included a sunflower element. So we wanted her new brand to feel natural. This took us to Cobbs Hill, where the green trees and architecture, and even a yellow bench helped us tie everything together.

If you’re in the market for hypnotherapy or to learn more about it - take a glance at Kim’s website at Entrancing Inspirations!

Voice Actor Head Shots in Fairport NY: Kurt

Like son, like father, that's what they say, right? If Kurt looks familiar, it may be because his son was just featured on our blog a few weeks ago.

Also a voice actor, Kurt was due to update his look. He brought a different microphone to play with (a Fentone, vintage RCA look alike) and several outfits from casual to semi-formal. We played off of those options to create a variety of looks - from fun and silly to a more "traditional" head shot. However...

What's really neat about being in business these days, is that no longer is "boring-headshot-in-front-of-boring-background" the norm. Today's customers want to know the person behind the product (our voice in this case) so we really get to showcase our clients' personalities.

Kurt very easily switched from selling cars and mattresses to telling stand up jokes against the classic brick wall. He's a great guy, so if you're in the market for some voiceover work, you should check out his team at The Write Creative.

Enjoy!

Voice Actor Head Shots in Rochester NY: Kiefer

Meet Kiefer. He has been a voice actor since he was a child, thanks to his father who is also in the industry. In recent years, you may have even seen him on one of Rochester's many stages. After growing a mustache to play Albert Einstein last month, he was excited to shave it off and get in front of the camera.

We hit the studio to update his headshots and had a ton of fun! He brought his trusty mic and we made a variety of images. From action shots to the guy next door to the guy next door staring on a reality TV show with his friend "Mic".

If you can't tell, there was a lot of laughing during this session.

Kiefer, it was my pleasure. Can't wait to see what you do next!

Headshot Portraits for Librarians: Maggie

Our business is heavily relationship based. You can see that in the images we create. Working with Maggie to update her headshots was unique to her personality, but just what I always strive for in a session. Fun, outdoors, good lighting, natural expressions.

She choose one of my favorite locations in the city to shoot: the University of Rochester campus. We met at the library, and planned to shoot near the quad. We quickly discovered much of it to be under construction, but not to worry, we altered the game plan slightly and still found lots of unique locations with great lighting to use.

Maggie, thank you for bringing your beautiful smile and helping me learn a little more about you and your journey to this moment. It's been a pleasure getting to know you, and laughing with you when we got photo bombed by the balloons. :)

Until next time,
Lori

Head Shot Sessions in Fairport NY

One of the things I look for in a head shot is life in the eyes. Nowadays, anyone can take a photo and edit it quite quickly. So what set's a professional portrait apart? The eyes.

Maurini was so easy to talk to, this session was a blast. We took advantage of an overcast day in Fairport to walk along the canal and make some portraits. Maurini recently received a fellowship in library sciences, which is what the photos were originally for.

So, how do you get life in the eyes? In this case, all I had to do was ask her about her husband, and she instantly smiled, a real smile. Which made me smile. If your husband can still do that after 20 years, you know you found the right one. That is all I know about him, and I can't wait to meet him!

For now, meet Maurini, and how about those eyes?

Branding Photography for Artisans: Rochester NY Photographers

I never knew the building on Main Street as a firehouse. It was a food pantry when I moved to Fairport. But when Paul and Carolyn moved into it, they converted the space to house their woodworking business. What started as a hobby, became a passion that they now happily share with others.

Paul works with reclaimed wood, scraps and random pieces given to them. Carolyn takes extra tiles leftover from job sites, and other found materials to create her art. Together, they have created tables, decor and so much more. She can create something by request, working with your choice of colors, materials or theme.

I have loved getting to know this wonderful, easy going couple through the course of creating some images to launch their website. The store has been open since June, and the website should be launching very soon.

Especially as Small Business Saturday approaches, we're grateful to work with local artists like these two. We hope you'll think about stopping by a local merchant as you carefully select your holiday gifts. In doing so, you know that each gift you give was thoughtfully and lovingly made - versus a quick trip to your local big box store.

If you like quality, handmade pieces of art, stop down and get to know these artisans! Their work is sure to impress you, and if nothing else you can enjoy all of the firehouse relics they have accumulated to decorate the space!

Enjoy this sneak peek into the shop, and feel free to say hello and welcome, either in the comments, or in person at 113 N Main St, Fairport!

Creative Professional Head Shots: Rochester NY Photographers

Meet Paul: The Creative Person. He’s an app developer, podcaster, entrepreneur- extraordinaire! He’s also a coffee fanatic with a super adorable puppy. We met several years ago as students at RIT and had a blast reconnecting and creating these portraits for his growing business! When Paul approached me looking for “Fun, Happy Portrait Photos” I couldn’t resist. We don’t do lame, sad portraits here!

Paul has an office in Venture Creations at RIT. We started there to photograph him surrounded by his “tech”. The fancy microphone, Mac Pro with dual monitors & of course his iPhone, etc. I stood on a desk to create some fun angles for these environmental portraits. Then we went exploring and got creative in the lobby and outdoors as well. It was a fun afternoon!

The coolest part of it all though, is seeing it all in use! Check out Paul’s website here: http://paulsolt.com/

and The Creative Person Podcast http://creativepersonpodcast.com/

Keep it up Paul!
