Congratulations Class of 2019: Rochester NY High School Senior Portraits

First, I want to wish the Class of 2019 happiness and success. Second, I want to say thank you! Thank you for sharing your smiles, your stories and your laughter with us.

It has been our pleasure to get to know each of you over the last year, and to document your personality, style, and interests.

This year, we worked with dancers, golfers, baseball and volleyball players. We also worked with musicians, animal lovers, and even some with political ambitions. We visited parks, beaches, schools and farms. We played in the flowers, the rain and even in Rochester City Hall.

Yes, it was a fun year and one for the record books. Thank you to each high school senior and their family for taking us along on the ride! If you want to relive it with us, you can find blog recaps for each student below.

Please join me in congratulating the Rochester NY Area Class of 2019!

Senior Portrait at Eastman Museum: Joe

His mother told me that it’s rare to see Joe without a hat on. She just wanted some simple photos to remember her son at this stage, before he heads off into college and then the real world.

For Joe’s senior photos, we returned to the same location where we photographed his sister just a few years earlier: the always beautiful Eastman Museum.

It was one of those mornings where I drove through a passing rain shower on the way to the session. Uh oh.

But it held off for us to make some images. Joe chose the very first portrait for his yearbook photo, a nice casual close up. Then we had fun using some of the different backdrops and textures available to us on the grounds. Rochester NY has so many great options for senior portraits.

Here are a few of my favorites. Say congrats to Joe in the comments!

Have a great year!

Fairport NY Senior Pictures: Kristen in the Sunflowers

Kristen came to us all the way from Rome, New York for her senior portrait experience! She had read all about the Sunflower Festival at Wickham Farms and knew that was what she wanted for her senior photos. We hit up the Thomas Creek Boardwalk first to fit her barefoot country vibe, then enjoyed a sunset in the sunflowers.

Who knew there were so many varieties of sunflowers? I sure didn’t. Tall, short, yellow, orange. They were all beautiful and fun to play in. Kristen was fun to work with and up for anything. I hope you enjoy her Fairport senior portrait session as much as we enjoyed capturing it!

Thanks for choosing Lori and Erin Photography, hope you’re having an awesome Senior year!

Mercy High School Senior Portraits: Emma Kate

Emma Kate’s senior portrait session took place in two parts.

First, we had a bright windy day in the sunflowers where we laughed and laughed. Part two took place almost two months later so we could include her dad. They certainly have a special bond, because they were still smiling throughout the cold, rainy day. Love it!!

Pittsford Dairy was a great backdrop for this session, and we enjoyed warming up with hot chocolate after!

Thank you for trusting me in the rain, and rocking your senior photos Emma Kate! It has been such a pleasure photographing you. Good luck with the rest of your year at Mercy, and see you again soon!

Senior Portraits, Pittsford Mendon, Rochester NY: James

I had the pleasure of meeting James last year when he came along to his brother’s senior portrait session as comic relief.

This time around, it was his turn in front of the camera. He rocked it with his Led Zeppelin t-shirt. He also donned a sport coat and a sweater which fit his dreamy, reflective personality - the way his mom describes him.

It was a great day for high school senior portraits in Highland Park, and I’m sure there are many more great days ahead for this bright soul. Thanks James, I can’t wait to see where life takes you next!

Victor High School, Cobblestone Creek Senior Portraits: Jeremy

If he’s not on the course, you might find Jeremy at the pool house. He loves taking advantage of having Cobblestone Creek Country Club literally in his backyard. He enjoys having a golf course so much, that Jeremy plays for the Victor High School golf team.

There are the amazing bridges and easy to find scenes at Cobblestone Creek, but we took the carts out and found some off the beaten path areas as well. Did you know there are railroad ties around some of the sand traps? So unique!

And wow, this kid is talented. After just a few practice swings (so we could get those action shots) Jeremy put the ball 5 feet from the hole... from off the tee. That would have taken me at least 8 strokes. :)

It was a pleasure working with you Jeremy, hope you’re having a great year and good luck in the Spring!

Savannah: Fall themed Senior Portraits in Fairport, NY

Savannah loves all things fall… so we headed to Chase Farms for her senior portraits. The pumpkins and corn stalks were the perfect setting. It was a windy day, but Savannah took it all in stride! We made a couple other stops including this abandoned greenhouse down the street - which she rocked with that jacket.

We finished up at the Fairport High School track, where she has spent many hours. A double jump gets her pumped before each race, so we made it look like she could jump over the trees!

We laughed, took some great images, and we got photo bombed by a caterpillar… basically, it was everything you can hope for in a senior portrait session. :)

Thanks for the adventure, and enjoy the photos Savannah!

Jack: Victor NY Senior Pictures at Cobblestone Creek Country Club

He just seems at home here, maybe because it is practically his backyard. Jack is a golfer first, but also loves soccer and ski racing in his spare time.

He opted for a simple senior portrait session, with his favorite background, the golf course. So, we took the carts out on the course and found some great views for him! It was one of those perfectly cool summer nights, so it made for amazing sweater weather.

Thanks for choosing Lori and Erin Photography Jack, we wish you an amazing senior year and beyond!

Rochester NY Urban Senior Portraits: Kiara

She may live in the suburbs now, but Kiara is a city girl at heart. She grew up near Park Ave in Rochester NY and has many fond memories there, so it seemed like a great spot to start her Rochester senior portrait session.

When we got to Parkleigh, we were pleasantly surprised by colorful gum balls lining the street. There must be a story about how they got there, but we don’t know what it is. Regardless of the gum balls’ origin story, we used them for the color and the fun, life-in-the-city vibe!

Our next portrait location in Rochester was High Falls. Kiara was joined there by her younger sister and best friend for some fun images in the cobblestone street. We ended after dark with her favorite dancing outfits and a beautiful night.

This is what summer nights are made for... exploring the area we live in, soaking it all in with friends. Thanks for a fun session Kiara! Enjoy some of my favorites below!

Marion High School Senior Portraits: Brooke

This is our second time photographing Brooke, but her one and only High School Senior Portrait session. When she’s not swimming or taking her own photos, she’s getting ready to study graphic design in her college adventures.

She is a country girl at heart who loves to swim and take her own photos. So we spent our time together in a natural setting, chasing the sunset light at the Webster Arboretum.

It was a gorgeous August night, perfect for catching Brooke’s smiling eyes. Here’s to you Brooke, enjoy the year ahead!

McQuaid High School Senior Pictures: James

As a high school senior photographer, there are two types of seniors we typically see. A: Those excited to have special portraits made to celebrate where they are in life and B: Those who are smiling because mom asked them to.

I am so pleased to say that James went from a “B” to an “A”.

Last time I photographed James, he was approximately two feet shorter. It was such a pleasure to get him in front of the camera again and see how he has grown. Not just physically, but as a thoughtful, caring young man. He is an eagle scout, varsity football player and drives a cool truck, but what really sets James apart is his leadership and volunteer commitments. He spends his spare time on the Executive Council at McQuaid, showing new students around and also working at Camp Stella Maris on Conesus Lake.

When I asked how he wanted to be remembered, he easily replied with the McQuaid motto, “A man for others”.

James, I see big things for you in the future and am proud to know you. Enjoy your senior year!

Penfield High School Senior & Family Pictures: Sean

Part family session, part senior session, all fun! What's better than hanging out in your backyard with your sisters and parents?

For his senior portraits, Sean wanted to keep it simple. He selected his favorite shirt, his favorite tree, and a beautiful summer night. I loved creating images for this gang of easy going people for them to cherish as Sean heads into his senior year at Penfield High School and beyond.

Say hello to Sean and family!
