Pittsford Mendon Senior Portraits: Hudson

It was one of those days with a summer storm moving through. I had my fingers crossed that the clouds would stick around, but not the rain. We were in luck. The timing worked out perfectly and who doesn't love the reflection you get in a puddle?

We got exactly what we needed to make Hudson's senior portraits epic, both at his Pittsford Mendon High School, and the Rochester Public Market. Then we capped it off with some downtown Rochester, rooftop pictures at dusk.

Looking for something different? Perhaps, some night shots for your senior pictures? Look no further, we've got you covered.

For now, enjoy Hudson's Rochester senior portrait session: baseball, graffiti and city skylines!

Our Lady of Mercy Senior Photos: Madison

While she attends Our Lady of Mercy, Madison is a Fairport girl. After some family portraits at the house, we went exploring around the canal, right here in our quaint little village.

There is always something new to see and enjoy in our town, and I love it here. From the stone wall to the famous bridge and the gazebo, we hit all the hot spots.

The weather was iffy, but the clouds provided the perfect cover. We actually did feel a few rain drops, but it didn't slow us down one bit! And besides that, how perfect is that umbrella? Madison rolled with it and rocked her whole senior portrait session.

Fairport NY really is front porch friendly, and we love living here. Thanks Madison for choosing us to capture this pivotal time in your life. It has been a pleasure getting to know you and your whole family! Have a wonderful senior year!

Cheers,
Lori

Durand Eastman Beach Senior Pictures: Elizabeth

Like her brother Christopher, Elizabeth is very easy going, relaxed and also has a perfect smile :) {Link to his post}

She will join him at RIT, but for accounting – which fits her exacting personality very well!

However, unlike her brother, she wanted more of a natural setting for her Rochester NY senior pictures, so we hit Durand Eastman Park for the best of both forest and beach.

What's better than golden hour on the beach? Answer - nothing.

As we were shooting, I thought wow, Rochester could almost be mistaken for someplace tropical. The golden sky, the blue water, Elizabeth rocked everything from the fallen logs to the waves on the shore.

Elizabeth - I hope your senior year is memorable and fun!

Feel free to leave well wishes for Elizabeth in the comments!

Cheers,

Lori

Rochester NY Senior Portraits: Christopher in the City

Christopher is the kind of person with a plan. Currently a member of DECA, he plans to study marketing at RIT and eventually get into politics. He'll start local, but hopes to work up to senator or maybe even a cabinet position someday. I love his ambition and easy going nature. And also, look at that perfect smile!

Rochester City Hall set the perfect background for his session. The marble columns, the flag, and he looked so comfortable in that board room. We also headed outside to enjoy the architecture of the city, and ended up over at the Memorial Art Gallery.

Christopher definitely projects a strong, confident personality, and you'll see that in his senior portraits. Best of luck, Christopher, in all your endeavors!

Cheers,
Lori

PS: Stick around, his twin sister Elizabeth is next up on the blog!

Greece Arcadia Senior Portraits: Sam

Full of laughter and a naturally radiant smile, Sam was very easy to photograph. The focused face really only came out on the diamond, so you can tell he is passionate about his sport of baseball.

He pitches and catches for the Greece Arcadia Varsity team, and plays the drums. But what impressed me most about Sam is that he voluntarily spent his spring break building homes with Flower City Work Camp.

I just love living vicariously through all the things today's high school seniors are doing. Sam is active in his church and community, easy going and just one of those people you know is going to make an impact. In fact, he already has!

Looking forward to seeing what you do next, Sam. Have a great senior year!

Victor High School Senior Pictures at Cobbs Hill

She is a life long dancer, a red sox fan, and math (yes, math - go girl!) makes her happy. Meet Ally, a senior at Victor High School!

For her senior portrait session, of course we had to get her into those dance shoes! It was great watching her in her element on stage. But before we got to the theater, we stopped by Cobbs Hill for some outdoor portraits.

Ally rocked every outfit and location - just see for yourself!

I have to admit, it has been bittersweet working with Ally. , Don't get me wrong - she is a fantastic human being, incredible to photograph and a pleasure to be around. But having already photographed both of her older brothers, it's a bit sad knowing she is the last sibling in this amazing family that I have come to know so well over the years.

I'm guessing the emotions Ally's parents are feeling must be like this, but even stronger! But the silver lining (for us) is that even though high school senior season chapter of their lives is ending, perhaps wedding season won't be too far away. We enjoy being part of your lives and capturing all the big and small moments.

Until next time,

Lori

Pittsford Mendon High School Senior: Evan

Kind, observant, steadfast. This is Evan, a senior at Pittsford Mendon High School.

He is part of the Brighton Police Explorers, guitar player and batman fan, among other things. His session was an adventure off the beaten path near Shoen Place.

Evan is the middle of 5 kids, and the second one I have had the pleasure of photographing. Meet his older brother, George, here. Younger brother, James, came along to provide the laughs and keep him from stiffening up in front of the lens.

Without further ado, here are a few faves from the session! Enjoy!

McQuaid Senior Portraits: Rochester NY Senior Pictures

Okay I just have to tell you how much I love this family. It was about 5 years ago I first photographed them, and I just adore spending time with them.

Evan is no exception, and we wandered around Genesee Valley Park for his senior portrait session. This took place just a few days before the McQuaid invitational overran the park with thousands of runners.

When not running, Evan plans to study astrophysics. Check out that tie! How perfect.

Mom and little brother, Owen, tagged along on his session, you'll see them below. Thanks for putting up with me, Evan! You did great :)

School of the Arts Senior Portraits in Rochester NY

Alexander is a vibrant personality. He is kind, warm, and theatrical.

He was referred to our studio by his cousin, Grace, so I knew this would be a fun session! We explored the Sunken Gardens and Highland Bowl together to make some senior portraits that would fit his characteristics perfectly.

Check them out - oh and wish him luck as the LEAD in Little Shop of Horrors this year! Congratulations Alexander!

Gananda High School Senior Portraits at Chimney Bluffs

When I met John, we talked about what he is interested in and what he wants to do. He wants to go into law enforcement, is a three season athlete and also likes to hike and hunt. One of his favorite places in the area is Chimney Bluffs. If you haven't been, you should. You'll completely forget that you live in NYS when you see this beautiful area.

I could see him get more excited about his session the more he thought about going back there...

This session definitely had some adventure to it! There was some hiking to get to the best spots, and he had no problem changing outfits in the woods. The blowing wind down by the water disappeared as we climbed higher. It was a great way to spend a morning, and I enjoyed getting to know John and his mother more as we created fun senior portrait images.

Check them out, and John, have a great year! Thanks for bringing me along on the adventure.  :)

Senior Portraits at Village Gate, Rochester NY

For Michele's senior pictures, there was no lack of ideas. We started at Corbett's Glen in Penfield with her dog and the waterfalls. The natural setting is always so nice, and we had the place practically to ourselves – which is pretty rare for Corbett's Glen!

Stop number two was at the Village Gate where, where we used the color and textures to our advantage. Michele is a competitive cheerleader, and made some ridiculous poses look easy. All in all, this was a really fun session with lots of variety!

Check them out and leave some love and congrats for Michele and her senior year of high school!

Enjoy,
Lori
