Pittsford Mendon High School: Olivia's Senior Photos

Meet Olivia! While she is all about field hockey, she chose to get dressed up and let her hair down for her senior portrait session in Pittsford NY!

We had a great time exploring all the unique backgrounds around Schoen Place and finished up at Tinker Park with her siblings and new little puppy. I gotta say, they are lucky I didn’t take little Winnie home with me! :)

Winnie may have tried to steal the show, but Olivia really knocked it out of the park! Happy senior year, and good luck on the field!

Senior Portraits, Fairport High School: Rohan

Me: So you play volleyball... are you any good?

Rohan: Well, our team won states last year…

Rohan is a natural on the Fairport High School Volleyball court, and in front of the camera. Mom wanted some nice scenery in the background, so we explored one of my favorite secret treasures in Rochester: Linear Park. This one park has so much variety for high school senior pictures, we could get a lot of different looks without going far. In the woods, by the water, and a grungy brick wall for some dramatic sports images.

Happy senior year Rohan, and thanks for choosing us to document your senior portraits!

Victor High School Senior Pictures: Abby, Class of 2020

Abby chose our model session for her senior portraits for Victor High School, which meant we got to explore 3 different portrait locations around Rochester together. We did a few images at their home, followed by an amazing barn down the street and finished at Schoen Place with all its variety! I loved her blue eyes against the blue background, including the miniature horses in a few images and Abby’s sunny personality the whole time.

Every session is special and this one was no exception! Congrats Abby on your senior year and thanks for having us along on the ride!

Brighton High School Senior Photos: Katie, Class of 2020

Our goal for every senior portrait session is to reflect back to our seniors who they are. Every single session is unique in its own way, because every single high school senior is unique in their own way.

It was a dream and absolute pleasure to photograph a fellow purple haired friend. We created senior pictures that made her feel like her real self. We hit up Schoen place in order to show off her snowboard, her skateboard and even her pug socks and car. Each element she shared with us showed us a little bit more about who she is at heart.

The results were playful and thoughtful, frankly - they were perfection.

Senior Pictures, Victor NY Class of 2020: Meet Connor

He told me he was just a simple, casual guy. He loves his truck, chemistry, yard work and hunting.

Oh, and he’s also into woodworking and has a little shop in his basement. He was very modest about it, but I saw what he’s made— and don’t let Connor fool you, he is very talented!

It was a pleasure exploring Boughton Park with Connor for his senior portraits. We utilized the natural settings of water and trees but also found a broken down bridge that made a cool backdrop. Check ‘em out and say hi below!

Four Tips for Great Senior Pictures in Rochester NY

Since our high school senior portraits are coming up quick, we thought it might help if we offered up a few tips for some great senior pictures. After all, these photos will live on the pages of the high school yearbook and on your walls for years to come. The experience you have should be fun, memorable and unique!

So here's a few tips to get you thinking...

1) Clothing - Do your best to avoid clothing with words, stripes and plaids. Solid colors tend to photograph much better, especially in a busy background like a park or among colorful flowers. Make sure you're comfortable in your choices, and that they are flattering to you. If there's a part of you that you're self-conscious about, like your arms - simple solution, wear sleeves! Be comfortable in your clothes, so that it shows in your photographs! Also, keep your jewelry simple so it doesn't distract from what we're really capturing - you!

If you have questions on what to wear, bring a variety of options - from dressy to casual! We can help you pick the right outfit for the right setting.

2) Makeup - Ladies, don't feel like this is an opportunity to layer on the makeup. We want the natural you, not someone that no one will recognize! Your makeup should only be slightly heavier than usual. And please...don't use sparkles, they only make you look shiny in all the wrong places. Don't worry too much about blemishes either, we have ways to help diminish those!

3) Shaving - Guys, unless you're into the bearded look, shave prior to the session to avoid unwanted stubble. If you're face gets irritated easily, leave enough time for it to return to normal. Plan ahead!

4) Props, pets and activities - Here's the fun part. What is it that makes you, you? Do you have a cat, dog or pet iguana to include? We're game, just make sure you bring treats for motivation, and someone to keep watch over Fluffy the Lizard while he's not in the photographs.

We encourage you to bring items that reveal your personality and hobbies. For example, an instrument, sporting equipment, vehicle, collectible, or whatever it is you enjoy.

Most important of all - this should be a memorable experience, so have fun!

Congratulations Class of 2019: Rochester NY High School Senior Portraits

First, I want to wish the Class of 2019 happiness and success. Second, I want to say thank you! Thank you for sharing your smiles, your stories and your laughter with us.

It has been our pleasure to get to know each of you over the last year, and to document your personality, style, and interests.

This year, we worked with dancers, golfers, baseball and volleyball players. We also worked with musicians, animal lovers, and even some with political ambitions. We visited parks, beaches, schools and farms. We played in the flowers, the rain and even in Rochester City Hall.

Yes, it was a fun year and one for the record books. Thank you to each high school senior and their family for taking us along on the ride! If you want to relive it with us, you can find blog recaps for each student below.

Please join me in congratulating the Rochester NY Area Class of 2019!

Senior Portrait at Eastman Museum: Joe

His mother told me that it’s rare to see Joe without a hat on. She just wanted some simple photos to remember her son at this stage, before he heads off into college and then the real world.

For Joe’s senior photos, we returned to the same location where we photographed his sister just a few years earlier: the always beautiful Eastman Museum.

It was one of those mornings where I drove through a passing rain shower on the way to the session. Uh oh.

But it held off for us to make some images. Joe chose the very first portrait for his yearbook photo, a nice casual close up. Then we had fun using some of the different backdrops and textures available to us on the grounds. Rochester NY has so many great options for senior portraits.

Here are a few of my favorites. Say congrats to Joe in the comments!

Have a great year!

Fairport NY Senior Pictures: Kristen in the Sunflowers

Kristen came to us all the way from Rome, New York for her senior portrait experience! She had read all about the Sunflower Festival at Wickham Farms and knew that was what she wanted for her senior photos. We hit up the Thomas Creek Boardwalk first to fit her barefoot country vibe, then enjoyed a sunset in the sunflowers.

Who knew there were so many varieties of sunflowers? I sure didn’t. Tall, short, yellow, orange. They were all beautiful and fun to play in. Kristen was fun to work with and up for anything. I hope you enjoy her Fairport senior portrait session as much as we enjoyed capturing it!

Thanks for choosing Lori and Erin Photography, hope you’re having an awesome Senior year!

Mercy High School Senior Portraits: Emma Kate

Emma Kate’s senior portrait session took place in two parts.

First, we had a bright windy day in the sunflowers where we laughed and laughed. Part two took place almost two months later so we could include her dad. They certainly have a special bond, because they were still smiling throughout the cold, rainy day. Love it!!

Pittsford Dairy was a great backdrop for this session, and we enjoyed warming up with hot chocolate after!

Thank you for trusting me in the rain, and rocking your senior photos Emma Kate! It has been such a pleasure photographing you. Good luck with the rest of your year at Mercy, and see you again soon!

Senior Portraits, Pittsford Mendon, Rochester NY: James

I had the pleasure of meeting James last year when he came along to his brother’s senior portrait session as comic relief.

This time around, it was his turn in front of the camera. He rocked it with his Led Zeppelin t-shirt. He also donned a sport coat and a sweater which fit his dreamy, reflective personality - the way his mom describes him.

It was a great day for high school senior portraits in Highland Park, and I’m sure there are many more great days ahead for this bright soul. Thanks James, I can’t wait to see where life takes you next!

Victor High School, Cobblestone Creek Senior Portraits: Jeremy

If he’s not on the course, you might find Jeremy at the pool house. He loves taking advantage of having Cobblestone Creek Country Club literally in his backyard. He enjoys having a golf course so much, that Jeremy plays for the Victor High School golf team.

There are the amazing bridges and easy to find scenes at Cobblestone Creek, but we took the carts out and found some off the beaten path areas as well. Did you know there are railroad ties around some of the sand traps? So unique!

And wow, this kid is talented. After just a few practice swings (so we could get those action shots) Jeremy put the ball 5 feet from the hole... from off the tee. That would have taken me at least 8 strokes. :)

It was a pleasure working with you Jeremy, hope you’re having a great year and good luck in the Spring!
